Ingredients

Chicken and seasoning
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 salt to taste
  • 1 pepper to taste
  • 1 garlic powder to taste
Paprika oil and coating
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 fresh parsley for serving
  • 1 lemon wedges for serving

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Preheat and prep the pan
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment for easy release and crisp edges (visual cue: parchment fully covers the sheet).
Make the paprika oil
  1. Mix olive oil with smoked paprika, sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly combined and vibrantly orange-red (visual cue: smooth, paprika-speckled oil).
Coat the chicken
  1. Brush the paprika oil generously over both sides of each chicken breast so the tops are glossy and coated (visual cue: visible orange-red sheen on the surface).
Add the Parmesan-panko crust
  1. Combine Parmesan and panko, then press firmly onto the oiled chicken to coat the tops completely (visual cue: an even, packed crumb layer with no bare spots).
Bake until crisp and cooked through
  1. Bake for 22-25 minutes at 425°F until the crust is golden-red and the edges look caramelized, with internal temperature reaching 165°F (visual cue: crackled, browned topping).
Finish and serve
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges to brighten the caramelized crust (visual cue: green parsley on top and yellow lemon wedges on the side).

Notes

For the crispiest topping, press the Parmesan-panko firmly right after coating with paprika oil so the crumbs adhere. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days; reheat on a sheet pan in a 400°F oven until hot. Freezing is not recommended because the crust texture softens. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free panko or finely ground gluten-free breadcrumbs.
