Ingredients

Red, White & Blue Fruit Kabobs
  • 2 cup fresh strawberries Hulled; halve if large.
  • 2 cup fresh blueberries Use whole berries.
  • 2 cup large marshmallows or white grapes Choose one: marshmallows or white grapes.
  • 12 wooden skewers or bamboo picks Use for threading; keep on hand for all kabobs.

Method

Prep and thread the kabobs
  1. Wash and prep all fruit by hulling the strawberries and leaving the blueberries whole (visual cue: berries look clean and dry).
  2. Thread each skewer with a repeating patriotic pattern: 1 blueberry, 1 marshmallow, 1 strawberry—repeat 2–3 times per skewer depending on skewer length (visual cue: alternating colors form a neat sequence like little flags).
  3. Line the completed skewers on a serving platter or tray (visual cue: kabobs are spaced so colors stay clearly visible).
Chill and serve
  1. Refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 2 hours ahead (visual cue: kabobs look firm and stay neatly aligned).
  2. Serve chilled as a grab-and-go party appetizer or dessert (visual cue: a colorful overhead fan of red, white, and blue is ready to grab).

Notes

Pro tip: dry the fruit well after washing so the skewers don’t get slippery—berries should stay tight on the skewer. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; freeze is not recommended. For a lower-sugar option, swap the marshmallows for white grapes to keep the same red-white-blue look while reducing added sugar.
